Facilitator Training

Our training has changed to reflect the new ACCT standards.

Facilitator Training – Level I

Register early.  Space is limited!

April 21-24, 2010  or May 3-6, 2010
8:30am – 5:00pm each day

  • Receive 40 hours of training on one of the finest courses in the state!
  • Great for your resume and lots of fun.
  • Receive 4 CEU credits.
  • Learn new facilitation skills and initiatives.
  • Build confidence and make new friends.
  • Receive a manual with over 40 activities you can do with your clients.

To be certified as a Level 1 Practitioner according to the ACCT standards, you must have 40 hours of training. Before facilitating an activity on your own, you must be observed by a qualified facilitator to show you know the safety proc'jj@freedomlegal.biz'edures.

Level 1 certification is good for one year.

Although the curriculum may sound like you are going back to school, we have a lot of fun.  At least half of the time will be spent learning new activities and games that you can take back to use with your programs.  You will also learn everything you need to run a group through the ropes course – knots, safety, techniques, processing, and more!

Facilitator Training – Level II

              To be certified as a Level 2 Practitioner you must complete Level 1 training, plus an additional 40 hours of training. Submit a Portfolio showing 200 hours of practical experience.

             

Level II certification is good for three years.

  • Build confidence and make new friends.

BSA Climbing Instructor Training –

March 20 and 27,  2010

8:00am – 1:00pm


$68 per person 
Early Registration Discount - Register by March 8 and pay just $38 per person

Call us and we can schedule a training for your group of leaders! (minimum 8 participants)

 

 

              A qualified rock climbing instructor who is at least 21 years of age must supervise all BSA climbing/rappelling activities. A climbing instructor has successfully completed a minimum of 10 hours of instructor training for climbing/rappelling.


Trainer Qualifications

Benjamin Allen has been training, facilitating, building and operating ropes courses for 25 years. He has built over 40 courses throughout the country including Aspen Grove, Heritage School, Provo Canyon School, New Haven, Utah State Prison, Heber Valley Camp, CA-LO, West Ridge, Valley Mental Health, Discovery Ranch, Snow College and more.

He is certified as a BSA COPE course instructor, trainer, inspector, and builder (1986, 1998,  2004 and 2009).  He is also certified and trained by Project Adventure (1991 and 2000).  These two programs have some of the finest training and strictest standards in the industry.  Benjamin is a member of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) and the Professional Ropes Course Association (PRCA).  He regularly attends conferences and workshops pertaining to ropes courses so he can stay up to date.
